The People Data and Insights Analyst is responsible for providing accurate and timely data solutions to inform and enable the business to make data-driven decisions aligned to Qantas Group and People strategic goals. This role will constantly look to deploy tools and technology to harness process, create insights and predict effectiveness of strategies using subject matter expertise in analytics to design and deliver reporting solutions.

Reporting to Manager People Analytics, this role will develop, build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to develop knowledge and influence change through an extensive understanding of business-driven data, providing advice and solutions on key People metrics and operational indicators across the Group. This role has an employee centric mentality, is data driven, and detail orientated with an innovative and curious mindset who strives for continuous improvement whilst tasked with balancing people, policy, process and technology to create meaningful datasets, build dashboards, improve efficiencies and provide accurate insights to drive workforce initiatives.

You’ll have;
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in a data and insights role.
  • Degree in quantitative discipline or related analytical field.
  • Advanced statistical and data analysis skills
  • Experience turning large structured and unstructured raw data into actionable insights and recommendations, with a proven track record of success
  • Prior experience in building custom reports in Workday and proficiency with Excel, including pivots and formulae
  • Prior experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Proven ability to communicate insights, provide recommendations and influence stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Self-directed with the aptitude to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment in order to meet strict deadlines
  • High initiative, pro-active and solutions orientated
  • Professional, calm and considered approach under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.
